PIPL Flagship Product

Tundish Covering CompoundTCC

Unlike single-recipe imports, PIPL builds TCC in two physical forms - carbon-free silica granules (INSULEX-GS) and fast-spreading powder (INSULEX-PW) - across silica (acidic), basic CaO-MgO, alumina/neutral and ultra-low-carbon chemistries. Granules run low-dust and low-consumption; the basic grade (CaO 38-47%) saturates magnesia linings to extend tundish life; and the ULC grade (free carbon <= 0.2%) protects IF and clean steels from carbon pick-up. Every grade is lab-matched to your slag practice, not a catalogue average.

TCC forms a stable insulating crust over the tundish melt surface - cutting radiative heat loss, levelling superheat, absorbing non-metallic inclusions and shielding the steel from re-oxidation across multi-heat sequences. PIPL supplies it as carbon-free silica granules (PANCH INSULEX-GS) and fast-spreading powder (PANCH INSULEX-PW), with basic CaO-MgO, ultra-low-carbon (ULC) and alumina/neutral grades engineered to each plant's slag practice and tundish lining.

The PIPL Speciality

Why Engineers Choose It

  • Two forms - carbon-free silica granules (INSULEX-GS) & powder (INSULEX-PW)
  • Silica (acidic), basic CaO-MgO and alumina/neutral chemistries
  • Ultra-low-carbon grade (free C <= 0.2%) for IF & clean steels
  • Basic grade saturates magnesia linings to extend tundish life

Variants

  • INSULEX-GS · Granular Silica
  • INSULEX-GS · Granular Neutral
  • INSULEX-PW · Powder Silica
  • Basic · CaO-MgO
  • Basic · ULC (ultra-low carbon)
  • Alumina / Neutral

Applications

  • Continuous casting tundish thermal cover
  • Long sequence / multi-heat casting
  • Superheat & temperature uniformity control
  • Clean-steel, IF & ultra-low-carbon grade protection

Carbon-free silica granules

PANCH INSULEX-GS is a carbon-free, silica-based covering compound in granular form. The granules charge with minimal dust and smoke for a clean, pollution-free platform, and run at a lower consumption rate than powder. Also available in a neutral chemistry to customer requirement.
